THE LAST EQUINOX

The Last Equinox, loosely inspired by Scottish folk legends and mythology, is set within the fictional village of Artairhan and focuses purely on the heritage of its surrounding forest – a heritage intended to remain everlasting however, as of the present, has been in some way forgotten.

It was once widely believed that, hundreds of years ago, following the burial of a beloved white witch within the once barren, neighbouring moorlands marked the growth of a single tree – which, immediately, was celebrated as a symbol of worship and guardianship. It was proclaimed that new, therefore stronger trees would flourish upon more burials which, for Artairhan, would result in an increasingly resilient defence against black magic and the evil eye. The villagers, henceforth, relished this legend and respected human sacrifice as a necessary tradition – aware that each offering, despite how many at one time, could only grant the forest a further 100 years of existence.

Yet, it is within the present day that the secrets buried beneath this sacred land are gradually revealed - whilst the fate of the forest hangs in the balance...

The Last Equinox is an occult fantasy brought to you by Barbarian and Scallywag Productions in collaboration with Glasgow Film Crew.
